The YU3 SZ series instrument offers a clear, crisp sound, and a superb depth of tone.  It is Yamahas most superior upright in the upright piano range available on the market and has the additional silent system factory fitted.  This model is unique due to its hand finished detail.

When the SILENT Piano™ function is activated, the hammers will no longer hit the strings and instead, a highly sophisticated sensor-technology captures all movements of the keys and sends them to the digital tone module. Play a real acoustic piano with headphones at any time, day or night without being disturbed or disturbing others. The Yamaha Silencing System is unsurpassed, allowing 24hr practice as well as possessing many other features.

Yamaha devotes so much time voicing their pianos so that the intentions of the pianist are conveyed to the strings. In regulation, a craftsman adjusts the movement of the action so that it accurately transmits every nuance of the pianist’s touch. In voicing, the hammers, which cause the strings to emit sound, are pricked with a pick to create a balanced tone that will respond beautifully when played.  The YU3 are specifically designed for advanced piano playing and built to withstand the rigours of professional piano performance.

The (Polished Ebony) YU3 measures is the tallest in the U series inches  ensuring a deep resonant tone that has warmth and clarity just like a grand piano offers. The action has a light to medium touch and feels especially quick under the fingers, allowing for fast, intricate music to be played with ease.
